Personal Growth Center

A drop in center provider a safe, supportive environment for those living with mental illness, emotional health issues, those recovering from addiction, and other life traumas.

We provide and atmosphere of acceptance that is needed in order for those who attend to grow in self worth, dignity, purpose, and independence.

We help grow knowledge of community resources and enable members to participate in activities, opportunities, social interaction, and relaxation with peers who support and understand them.

The center creates hope for a positive and productive life. We encourage individuals here to explore themselves in a way that they may not be able to elsewhere.

In this place, individuals can participate in activities, try new things, take risks, and make choices without fear of judgment, shame, or fear of failure.

Some who come to the center are involved in the mental health system and choices in life are made for them, decreasing independence and trust in their own decisions. This is a place that allows them to make basic decisions easier, thus increasing confidence both while here and out in the world.

At the center, people learn to create and initiate new ways to solve old problems. They received assistance in learning problem solving skills by example of those around them or by direct assistance. This is often how “ helping peers, help themselves” is nourished, by peers understanding and finding common ground, this can encourage new answers to old problems for some, as well as encouragement.

With these mental tools, individuals come to understand that the only real failure in life, is to not try at all.

The center is a place of non-judgement on how a person looks, acts, dresses, their past, or other things that may feel shameful in the outside world. We are a shame-free environment. Everyone is given respect and treated with dignity as a human being. We celebrate what makes each of us unique.
